Regatta Day

Posted By admin on July 26, 2009

Regatta Day came as the perfect day, light breezes perfect for the yachts and perfect for the motor boats displaying their flags and bunting, Castletown Bay was filled with bright colours making an impressive sight as all the boats completed the usual race route. In amongst these were the hardy rowers from Ramsey Rowing Club yet again turning out three boats in far gentler conditions than last year when even large cruising boats stayed in port.

For a full break down of results you need to recieve a Log Book (members only, but there is a membership form on the site)

Congratulations to young Ben Hellowell in the LaserII who cleaned up even though he was under pressure for most of the race from John Qualtrough in the Delta. Tom Nicholl, with his secret weapon Rex on the helm (did i hear Tom say safest place for him, away from ropes?) edged Q out for 1st place in the cruisers and yet another Q, although a bit older in Uncle John won the Castletown One Design class.

Thanks to all the officials for an excellent days boating.
