Sunday 23rd - a resounding no-go
Posted By admin on August 23, 2009
There are times you really don’t want the forecasters to get it right and unfortunately they did today, nice steady 33kts on the Big Pier anemometer convinced everyone to stay at home, even Laurel and Hardy.
Now we look forward two weeks to Sunday 6th August and a 12:15 start time. Only four races left including this one so the cups are still up for grabs, current positions after 8 races completed without any discards;
Overall Championship, Amy 55pts, Wildwave 46, Fiesta 38, Dilemma 38, Raven 30, Joan 25, Rosie B 22
One Design - Amy, Wildwave, Raven.
Cruiser - Fiesta & Dilemma=, Shearwater 19, Tuvag12.
Open - Jabberwock 19, Outlaw 16, Wombat 8.
Looks pretty open and really weather dependant, if the last fours races are in stiff conditions the Delta of Q has got to be favourite, if gentler conditions the COD’s should have in stitched up. Cruiser class is nice and tight at the front and a straight two horse race. Open class is a strange one, JC’s Jabberwock can’t gain points as the boat’s now in Dublin but if Phil in Outlaw doesn’t race he’ll win having taken part in only the first two races of the season!
