Next Race - Sunday 6th September
Posted By admin on September 1, 2009
As we roll into the last few races of the season it looks like the same old story, heavy weather sailing. Current forecast is for 20kts but the direction looks a little suspect with predictions of due west to due south. Check the links for the latest updates.
Definitely looks to be favouring the heavy bombers with the Delta of Q and the Fulmar of Mike going head to head. Recent sketchy reports from the Spanish side suggest the Fulmar’s upwind speed in the cruiser championship was pretty impressive overhauling some of the serious racing machines in the heavy seas so line honours could be a hard fought title on Sunday. I’m sure the other usual suspects in the Hurley, Swift and Jaguar will be out there trying to disrupt the natural order and hopefully some other IOMYC will roll up. However it looks as if it could be a bit breezy for the COD’s, Crabber and the LaserII.
Start time is 12:15 and OOD Mike Williams is the man to bribe.
Breaking News; The latest Pollard sail training excercise has been revealed, stalking the garden after dark with a pot of salt to catch snails! Quote “on a good night you can get over a hundred” …………. strange people these spaniards. Assuming the weeks hunting goes to plan MP is scheduled to come round on Saturday accompanied by she who must be obeyed (proffesional crew) so he’ll certainly be ready for the race and on best behaviour.
