Penultimate race - Sunday 4th Oct

Well here it comes, next to last race and back to good serious sailing weather, current projection is WSW 24kts so hopefully there’s enough West in it to avoid the big rolling seas.  For the latest forecast check the links page.

With MP’s Fulmar lifted out it looks to be a clear sail for the Delta of Q, however given the forecast the numbers could be depleted.  Possibility of TonyG & TonyK in their Hurley’s, however this is subject to work commitments and repairs, the Swift of JC will be there, and hopefully the Jaguar will have another run after a pretty impressive performance last race, obviously crew selection is critical for Tom.  Dark horse could be the Nicholson of Richard Bedford which will be well suited to the conditions.

Looking ahead threats are appearing from the Spanish main that MK will have a gaffer ready to roll by 2012.  Now this’ll definitely be worth seeing,  carbon mast, boom, yard and sprit, minimum weight hull, pentex sails and i’m sure there’s room on the bow sprit for an assymetric!  Given the time projection anyone with time on their hands this winter could give the old guy a hand, we need him racing next year and he’ll only be past it in three years.  Like his style though as he refers to himself as only a junior member of the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Yacht Club (get it - CDMYC) we need humour like this!
