First race looms

Posted By admin on April 12, 2010

Latest News; another confirmed entry for Sunday with Mick Kneale coming round in his N18, Gorrum, rumour has it now his bus pass and zimmer frame have been issued he feels able to compete.  Come on Townie’s the Spaniards could have the edge on numbers.

The first race looms large for this weekend with minimal activity around the harbour, Adam K looks to be all set in Wombat and should start to put points on the board as he’s definitely the leading contender for the Open Class.  Not many cruisers about as yet with JQ jnr on holiday and only going in for the next race.  Mike Williams, Club Commode for the next two years (is it Commode or Commodore?) is launching Bonny Lass, but when?  No news on Jim’s  Leisure or Esk.  Tom tried to  unveil Toerag’s new Ullman headsail on the quiet but it was such a brilliant white everyone was running for sunglasses, interesting to see what colour it is at the end of the season.  All quiet from the Spanish Main, Polly’s Fulmar will hopefully make an appearance for the first race but no news on the two Tony’s or John Dowling.  One dark horse already in the Harbour is Nev’s Pageant, Margaret and if he can get the free time it would be a serious contender for honours.

Currently not a COD in the harbour and if Brian doesn’t make it for the first race there must be an opportunity for one of the others to get in the water and steal a few points on him.

………………… and lets not forget, there’s a cuddly little Rupert Bear who’s rumoured to be going to sedately cruise round the course this year just enjoying the sail ……….. and if you believe that.

Finally remember the log book warning, if you’ve not submitted the insurance declaration, don’t pass Go as all you’ll get is DQ’d.
